What is slow cosmetics?
Slow cosmetics is an approach to beauty that prioritizes natural, simple, ecological products that are respectful of both health and the environment 🌿
You may have already heard of the slow cosmetics concept, but could you define it?
We are here to explain exactly what you need to know about slow cosmetics and why it’s important 😉
What is slow cosmetics?
"Slow Cosmétique" is a responsible consumption movement in the skincare & beauty industry, launched by aromatherapist Julien Kaibeck.
But what does this association actually do? 🤔
It is a militant association committed to the promise of more healthy and sincere cosmetics, but that’s not all!
Slow cosmetics is also an official label awarded to brands that comply with a specific charter based on strong values.
A movement with committed ideas
Slow cosmetics is based on more reasoned, healthier, and more authentic consumption:
1) Consume less, but better
-
Reduce the number of products used in our skincare routine 🌸
- Choose simple natural or organic formulas to avoid products with compositions loaded with synthetic ingredients...
2) Healthy and respectful products
-
Slow cosmetic products are formulated with as few processed ingredients as possible 🚮
- No controversial substances (petrochemicals, endocrine disruptors...), but rather a preference for plant-based active ingredients that are gentler on the skin and health 🫶
3) Ecological and ethical
- The movement promotes respect for the environment by choosing local ingredients or those from short supply chains, with a reduction in the overall ecological impact of the products ♻️
- Labeled brands also commit to avoiding manipulative marketing: no "greenwashing" or false promises!
4) Transparent and reasonable
- The movement invites you to choose products whose claims are justified and honest, without exaggeration 👀
- Prices must be fair and transparent, reflecting the true cost of the product rather than margins inflated by marketing 💸
